KIRBY ESTES was born in Compton, California but has spent most of his life in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  He received his B.A. and B. ARCH degrees from the University of Arkansas in 1973 and began private practice in Fayetteville upon graduation.  He retired from architecture in 2001 and resumed the study and writing of poetry and essays.  He has had articles published in Flashback and The Futurist.  His latest poetry has appeared in Grapevine, Poesia, and Slant.
