ANDREA HOLLANDER BUDY'S poems in this issue of the Arkansas Literary Forum are from her new poetry collection, Woman in the Painting (Autumn House Press, 2006). Previous books are House Without a Dreamer, which won the Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize, and The Other Life (both from Story Line Press), as well as three award-winning chapbooks. Other honors include the D. H. Lawrence Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize for memoir, the Runes Poetry Award, the Porter Prize for Literary Excellence, and fellowships from the Arkansas Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as more than a dozen other national awards. Her poems and essays have been published in anthologies, textbooks, and such literary journals as The Georgia Review, Poetry, FIELD, Shenandoah, Pleiades, and Creative Nonfiction. Since 1991 Budy has worked as the Writer-in-Residence at Lyon College, where she was awarded the Lamar Williamson Prize for Excellence in Teaching.
