Marcia Camp
Impressions
His legal pad is blank–
engraved with wandering
indentations of words.
He bore down hard with his pen–
illness
made everything a chore.
Writing wasn't
easy, but
sharing thoughts seemed
somehow worth the effort.
His
impressions are bleeding
up through this
yellow page now,
pulsing, informing me
that
living is worthy of the pain.
On this first day without him,
it's what
I need.
